The history of vibe
Lambda Theta Delta proudly presents Vibe, a dance competition eleven years in the making. An idea started over a decade ago, Vibe is now one of LTD’s most prolific events; elite dance teams from all over Southern California come to the Bren Center in Irvine to compete for a coveted championship, making for high-quality entertainment and reflecting our brotherhood’s tradition of excellence.

Lambda Theta Delta will be holding its 11th annual Vibe dance competition on February 26th 2006. As one of the West Coast’s premier hip-hop dance competitions and musical showcases, previous Vibe performances have been graced by the likes of Daz Dillinger and L.B. All stars, Styles of Beyond, West Coast Rockers, and Freaks of Nature. Our eleventh annual Vibe dance competition will feature only the most elite Southern California dance teams, making the show more prestigious than ever.
Be prepared for a unique showcase of stunning dance performances. Last year’s show was a sellout, selling out the Bren Events Center. We are also continuing our involvement with the community by donating a portion of the proceeds to the Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter. Vibe XI will continue its exceptional reputation as we increase the event’s competition, quality and diversity.
The dance showcase event coincides with our other online events on Casino Night. We weren’t able to get the slots equipment as originally intended, but we were able to partner with a website to provide some of the same games for our players. We had to be a little mindful of the laws, but by restricting our online games to those sites running games for US players (find by searching for: best online slots usa) we were able to provide all with a fun evening with all the proceeds going to the Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter.

My daughter was attending University of California, Irvine when the pandemic hit California. She finished the school year and returned home to Las Vegas where she has now lived with us for the past nine months. She decided not to return to UCI in the Fall when it was obvious the US did not have the pandemic under control.
December 2020:
It was exciting to learn today that the first shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine arrived at the UCI Health Medical Center in Orange. UCI issued a statement saying that they were proud to be among the very first to receive the vaccine in Orange County. Nevertheless my daughter is not going to resume classes until the Fall of 2021.
She found work this Fall as a delivery driver for a local water delivery company in Las Vegas called Tahoe Springs. We also use the company for our weekly bottled water. We appreciate that they guarantee crisp, delicious water that is purified through an exhaustive seven-stage process that includes, not only reverse osmosis, active carbon filtration, macro and micro filtration, but also ozonization and ultra-violet light. Somehow with all the news about covid, the mask wearing, social distancing, hands’ washing routines that are being advocated by health professionals, it just seems right to also be drinking purified drinking water. We were initially concerned about our daughter’s job, but she says she is following all safty rules and just drops off the water at the customers’ doors, never going inside. Plus she gets out of the house and earns some money for herself. She stays in touch with her Lambda Theta Delta friends via social media and can’t wait till the fall semester begins in 2021. Actually it’s been great having her home with us during these fraught times.

Some trivia for you performers: Josh Redding made a name for himself offering sell house fast advice in the UK at just the right time. He has numerous real estate holdings in several countries. In addition to managing properties and making conveyance assessments, he teaches a real estate sales program at his alma mater and performs standup comedy as a hobby that is taking on a life of its own. Real estate magnate and entertainer! He’d love to introduce your act at the next Vibe!
